Notability of Ultima Morgan[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ultima Morgan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste 21:15, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Removal of Afd template[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Keb25 02:24, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Sandy D'Alemberte[edit]

He never atteneded FSU as a student. Please lookat the definition of alumni.--Dr who1975 (talk) 22:15, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Date linking[edit]

Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#Autoformatting and linking, years should only be linked if they provide context to the article; dates should be linked if they are in month, day, year format, as wikipedia uses that to format dates based on user preferences. To summarize:

Don't link "2007" by itself
Link full dates such as August 21, 2007 or 2007-08-21.

FSU alumni category[edit]

Please do not add this category to articles that already have an FSU alumni-related category, such as Category:Florida State Seminoles football players. Since FSU football players is a sub-category of FSU alumni, having both would be rather pointless. I have reverted all that were added to players in the FSU football players category. Please do not add them back. Thanks. Pats1 T/C 01:14, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Category:Public Ivy[edit]

A tag has been placed on Category:Public Ivy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Category:Public Ivy is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Category talk:Public Ivy saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. The relevant deletion debate is at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 September 29#Category:Public Ivies. szyslak 22:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Cesar L. Alvarez[edit]

A tag has been placed on Cesar L. Alvarez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I'm not going to delete anything - decisions about that are up to administrators. Happy editing! Merenta 02:53, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Fla ADs[edit]

Upon closer examination, I see that you are correct. I was misled by the title: List of University of Florida people. It does not say "List of University of Florida alumni". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mgreason (talkcontribs) 17:39, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Wayne L. Rubinas[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wayne L. Rubinas, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wayne L. Rubinas seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wayne L. Rubinas, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. UF Wikipedia Project[edit]

Hey I was hoping if you could help me out with the coding for WikiProject University of Florida. Thanks! jccort 01:13, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Were you thinking of something complex like WikiProject Georgia Tech, or were you going to start simple? —Disavian (talk/contribs) 03:07, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

As a current or past contributor to a related article, I thought I'd let you know about WikiProject University of Florida, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of University of Florida. If you would like to participate, you can visit the project page, where you can join the project and see a list of open tasks and related articles. Thanks!

When using the templates, be sure to use "subst" as in {{subst:Invite User GaTech}}. It signs the template. Also, fair use images aren't typically allowed in userspace, so I went ahead and removed the UF logo from the templates. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 03:42, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Re:Invite[edit]

Hi, I think you invited me to work on Florida University stuff by mistake - I never went to that university nor have I contributed to any related articles about it. Cyberia23 (talk) 05:41, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

UF Project[edit]

Thanks for the invite. I'm afraid I'm pretty busy with a number of other projects, so I don't feel right signing on to yet another. (Spreading myself thin is always a problem for me.) But perhaps you can explain how a person can in good conscience attend both UF and FSU? Did you boo yourself during football games? =) Cheers. – Scartol • Tok 13:42, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Addition of Project userbox[edit]

I appreciate your effort to spread the word about the UF WikiProject, but I was a little less than happy about your adding the userbox to my user page right after I joined. I had planned to add it (after juggling some of my other user boxes), but you forced me to adjust them before I was ready to do so. You shouldn't add userboxes to other people's pages; let them decide if and when they want to do so. Horologium (talk) 01:57, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Wayne L. Rubinas[edit]

You and LightSpeed3 seem to be engaging in a slow revert war over this article. I would suggest using the discussion page. Also please read the policy on assuming good faith, and not accuse people of "actively trying to hurt" Wikipedia. Evil Monkey - Hello 01:56, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
