Fire & Life Safety America, Inc is an American company specializing in fire protection systems. It offers installation, consulting, testing, inspection and maintenance services. The company headquarters is in Richmond, VA, and the company has 14 offices located through the southeast and south central United States. The company also maintains a partner network to support customers on a national basis. The company is ISO certified and UL listed[1]
Name Change[edit]
The company was formerly known as East Coast Fire Protection ("ECFP") but changed its name to Fire & Life Safety America, Inc ("FLSA") in October 2008.[2]
In 2003, the company purchased Southeast Fire Protection and Eastern Fire Protection. In 2006, the company purchased Affordable Fire Protection. In 2007, the company purchased Affordable Fire Protection and Universal Sprinkler Corporation. In 2011, the company acquired the assets of Prestige Fire Protection.

Founding[edit]
The company was founded by James Toups, Jack Medovich, Tom Osgood and Bob Rose in August 1997. James Toups was a part owner of a competing sprinkler firm before leaving to start ECFP. Five people from the old company left to join the venture[1]. In its first week of business, the staff met in a fast-food restaurant because it didn't have a permanent office [3]
