Maximino Devan Perez (The Youngest Digital Performer)
Maximino D. Perez a.k.a. Devan Ibiza(born December 20, 1998) is a young Hispanic digital performer who has mastered the futuristic technology known as the "Emulator". He was born in the Bronx, New York.
Life and Career
Devan Ibiza was born Maximino D. Perez, the son of Maximino Perez, Jr. and Jessica Delvalle. He also has two sisters. Born to the mix of the driving rhythms of Latin music and hip hop floating in through the open windows of summertime in the boogie down Bronx, by the age of 3, Maximino Devan Perez was finding his way around his Dad’s recording studio and creating “crazy baby beats”! By 6, he had programmed his first song. His Dad, Mighty Max, the multi-talented New York Producer, Songwriter and Audio Engineer provided Devan with the tools and guidance necessary to pursue his passion and future aspirations. As Devan’s music abilities were the rise, Devan had to have a name that embodied where his talent could take him and at 6, he was reborn Devan Ibiza, named for the Latin DJ mecca, the Spanish Island of Ibiza. The rarest gem of all islands, it is here where DJ’s provide non-stop 24 hour a day rhythms driving the world’s party. This is the name...this is the goal...and everyday, Devan challenges himself to make the party happen!
Credited as the “Youngest Digital DJ”, Devan began his DJ career at 11 performing at venues usually reserved for those with years more experience, including, game performances as the featured guest DJ at Madison Square Garden for the New York Knicks and again for the New York Liberty team. In 2011, he was the DJ for the Kidz Bop ‘Kidz Star USA Talent Search’ to name a few of the highlights. Always motivated to give back any way he could, Devan was the youngest DJ ever to take part in the yearly Make-A-Wish Foundation Gala. Devan attended and performed at the 2012 Latin Mix Awards show and was the youngest DJ for the 2012 INTEL iSEF Conferences which is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition that annually provides a forum for more than 1,500 high school students from over 70 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research. In 2013, Devan Ibiza was again their guest DJ in San Franciso and again later that year in Arizona. Now at the age of 14, Devan has become a master of balance as well, putting school and education first and every other waking minute towards his music building the groundwork for a long and rewarding career.
As Devan has progressed in his mastery of technology, another opportunity presented itself through his Dad. Devan's Dad, Max, was experimenting with and promoting the use of Emulator Pro equipment for a number of his clients and had the equipment in his home studio between gigs. Undaunted, Devan began experimenting with the equipment as well and due to his success at such a young age, Devan came to the attention of SmithsonMartin, Inc. creators of the Emulator Pro. The company saw the marketing brilliance of representing the future of DJ’ing not only via innovative software programs controlled by multi-touch screens, but also by having a young talent take the equipment into venues where it would receive great exposure to young people. Devan was selected by SmithsonMartin to help pioneer the use of this technology in his mixes and DJ’ing gigs.
Devan is currently preparing to tour with the Emulator Pro where crowds will not only be able to hear and dance to Devan’s creative mixes, but they will also be able to see Devan work the technology on a huge transparent screen bringing the 3rd dimension to his Parties.
