[1]The Active Network, Inc., incorporated on July 6, 1999, is a provider of organization-based cloud computing applications serving a range of customer groups, including business solutions, community activities, outdoors and sports. The Company operates in two segments: Technology and Marketing services. The technology revenue segment is primarily composed of net registration revenue, which is made up of the technology fee. Technology revenue also includes software licensing, installation, training, maintenance and hosting subscriptions. The marketing services revenue segment includes online services, field marketing services and membership programs.
The Company powers a range of activities, such as reserving a campsite or tee time, signing up for a marathon or sports league, purchasing fishing or hunting license, or participating in a community event or corporate conference. It serves a range of customers, including community and sports organizations, corporations, small and medium sized businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, non-profit organizations and other similar entities. The Company primarily generates revenue from technology fees paid by participants who register for its customers’ activities through its cloud computing applications.
ActiveWorks, the Company’s organization-based cloud computing platform, transforms the way organizers record, track, manage and share information regarding activities and events. ActiveWorks allows organizers to leverage its large-scale, common infrastructure to manage their activities and events. ActiveWorks provides a view of the business and provides real-time business insights through live reporting and historical comparisons. ActiveWorks is designed to support existing marketing tactics and amplify those efforts through Web, mobile and social reach.
The Company’s technology applications, media solutions and online communities provide a search experience. Its offerings are designed to reduce the barriers to participation by enabling and supporting a consumer through each stage of The Active Journey: Find & Register, Share & Prepare and Participate & Commemorate. The Company provides consulting and implementation services to certain customers to facilitate the adoption of its loud computing applications. Consulting services consist primarily of business mapping, project management services and guidance on using its services. Implementation services include system set-up and configuration, data conversion, as well as developing customized training and education programs relating to both the use and administration of its services.
