Born Amanda Lauren Mallows (June 21, 1954) is an American model, actor, singer, and Film Producer. Best known for her modeling on the runways of New York and around the world in the '70s, '80s, and '90s, even gracing numerous magazine covers around the world. As an American film producer, Amanda is known for Executive Producing such notable films as “California Love”, and “I AM A MAN”. Henn House Production, Amanda’s company, is in current preproduction of “Roadrunner”
Amanda has appeared in several films over her acting career from the short film, "From Jets to Jail", Art on the Vine, to major feature films California Love, I AM A MAN, Roadrunner.
Early Life:
Amanda was born in Cincinnati, Ohio however was raised in Centre, Alabama. Amanda is the daughter of a successful Jewish merchant family. Amanda Married Timothy Playford Henn 1989 - Present and has one sister that still lives in the Centre, Alabama area and lots of extended family that keep her on her toes. Amanda credits growing up in a small southern town as the basis of her humor and creatively. Amanda's ability to create unique characters from real-life southern experiences has pushed her to share this gift with the world.
Career
Modeling began as a fluke, while walking through an Atlanta Department store a store buyer walked up and asked if she would like to be in a fashion show. Amanda was taken back, due to never even considering such an opportunity. Well, Amanda did take that buyer up on the opportunity and wasn't long before an agent spotted her and signed her and the rest is history. Amanda has worked from New York Fashion Week the runways of Europe.
Even though modeling was fun and exciting and led to many opportunities, she never forgot that having an education was first and foremost the most important undertaking. Amanda graduated with an Accounting Degree but started a long career in banking, starting with the Federal Reserve Bank, and when she retired from Banking was a Senior VP with Bank of America.
Amanda always kept one foot in fashion and one foot in business and that is that reason for her success.
