From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi! I'm a bit of an experimenter. A scientist. I go out and research things, and then try new things based off of what I have learned. So I've got some good information I've collected, but I also have some original research, which isn't very useful here. I've got a number of interests, mostly technical.

Unfortunately, I suffer from wikiphobia. I'd create an article about it, but I know it would just be deleted. Wikiphobia is the fear of making constructive positive changes to an article, in fear that an obsessive editor (zealous rule enforcer, or territorial protector of an article) will find my contributions, and rip them to shreds. (Not refine, guide, or help. Outright attack.)

I'd like to contribute more information to Wikipedia, but it just isn't about the information, it seems. The particulars of style, and more importantly, the politics seem to be coming into play more and more. I practically have to get myself a Wikilawyer to figure out what I can and can't do, and to defend me when a predatory user or editor attacks. It is too bad that Wikipedia is becoming too unpleasant to contribute to. It is a good resource, but it could be even better. --Jmccorm 02:37, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
