I've created a fairly simple Wikipedia:Welsh Wikipedians' notice board (shortcut WP:WWNB) to try to get things started. Sections in disambiguation pages

Yo, Joe, your change to RMS is well intentioned, but be warned that it is counter to MoS:DP, which specifies sections only for disambig pages with more than about 30 entries, and bold for breaking up shorter pages by subject. Some of the disambig editors get hot over issues like this. Your taste is repected, but uniform style counts for something, and if you change a lot of disambig pages like this, you'll be hearing from them, and I like to think that not all of them are as nice as I am. Ysgol Bryn Elian

I do not recall ever having met you or what your interest may be in my conflict with the Bryn Elian governors. However, I was annoyed to read your statement in Wikipedia that I "assaulted" a repoprter. I was acquitted of that charge and another related matter. I have subsequently suffered persecution by governors and their supporters in the police, courts and freemasons. Are you any of those, or just a busybody?

If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

Dafydd Elis-Thomas

I found the following two references:

A good place to look would be in Hansard when he was "introduced" into the House of Lords, but unfortunately they only have issues back to 1994 online and we need 1992.

Of course, normally he doesn't call himself Dafydd Elis Elis-Thomas, that sounds silly! He was born Dafydd Elis Thomas (unhyphenated) with Elis presumably being a given name, not part of his surname (perhaps you can explain Welsh names to me!) The "Garter King of Arms" who is in charge of titles etc. only allows peerage titles to be created from surnames, so he had to change his surname to Elis-Thomas to allow his title to be Lord Elis-Thomas. For a similar example and discussion, see George Brown, Baron George-Brown.

So on the web you can see references to both Dafydd Elis Thomas (pre-1992) and Dafydd Elis-Thomas. On Wikipedia, the convention is to begin an article with a full, legal name, so we have to use the full version, even though this would normally only be used on formal documents such as the House of Lords biography. The title of the Wikipedia page, on the other hand, is usually the name they are commonly known by (e.g. Tony Blair not Anthony Charles Lynton Blair) so Dafydd Elis-Thomas is correct for the page title. Thanks for your reply. I'm actually puzzled about his choice of title. Do people who know him personally call him Dafydd or Elis? If it's the latter, it makes sense. If it's the former, why didn't he choose to be Lord Dafydd-Thomas or even Lord Dafydd-Elis-Thomas? He's usually referred to by all three names. That's why I wondered if the "Elis" is some sort of name passed down in his family. I did find [1] and [2] where he's Dafydd Thomas, although I'm not sure we can trust Wikipedia or the CIA World Factbook. JRawle 17:30, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

You could well be right about Elis-Thomas sounding more like a surname (even if Elis, or Ellis in English, is a given name). Perhaps, rather than wanting to include his forename in his title, he simply wanted an unique title to avoid having to be Lord Thomas of Somewhere, there having been a Lord Thomas before. Image Gallery

Joe, not sure if you can be reached by email, would you do me a favour and take a look at Ffestiniog Railway and see if you receive all the images (six I think) in the gallery, then look at the last item on the talk page? Hilton Paris

Hi. Not that I deeply care but just thought I'd let you know why a disambig page was created for that page. It seemed to me (and the guy who wrote the disambig) that people not so familiar with wikipedia might use Hilton Paris as a search somehow thinking that the last name should come first.
