Plot[edit]

The scene opens as the player plays an unknown character named Dixon, who is on a mission to search the Creek Bed and help out the survivor, Buck. Eventually Dixon spots the first walker who was attacking Buck, as Dixon you are supposed to defeat the walkers, however this is an impossible feet, and more will come until Dixon was eaten by walkers. However, before the other survivor came to save Dixon, the man was bitten by a walker. You were playing as the main character Daryl Dixon's father who is put down by his own brother who was infected, Jess Collins.[1]

It is revealed that this isn't the first encounter with the undead and that head trauma is the only way to kill them. As Daryl angrily broke the glass possibly because of his father's death, Jess told him he must sneak out the back door and collect fuel for the truck in order for the journey to continue. Their next stop is Sedalia, 'The Gateway to the Hills' for collecting the possible supplies.[2]

The first cut scene reveals that the walkers have not yet spread and Jess wants to warn people, but there is no communication and a town's completely destroyed. They travel through the destroyed town in Sedalia looking for fuel. During the scavenger hunt for fuel, Daryl meets Jimmy Blake a cop on the top of a roof who is the last standing officer. It was revealed that Daryl was up in the hills and just found out the extent of the damage. He must find batteries and give them to the cop for some help, then he meets Warren Bedford at Lucky's, a gas station. Warren convinced Daryl that he will fill up the truck if Daryl get the keys from his uncle Lester, who went out to search for survivors. Unfortunately, uncle Lester has turned into the walker already in which Daryl has to put him down by force in order to get the keys. Intense scenario follows up as Daryl turned on the generator and filled up the gas when Warren uses the code to turn on the pumps. They escaped the town heading for Pemberton eventually before hundreds of walkers chase them down.[3]

Daryl is in charge of your group and tell your two members what to do. while Jess continues to get weaker form the bite. Daryl meets deputy Lee at the campgrounds who gives Daryl a shot gun and tells you to look for a ranger who has room in his car. He also reveals that the campgrounds are overrun by walkers. When looking for the ranger he came across a radio where a girl named Elizabeth is trapped in the town of premonitory, and found the car keys and a bunch of walkers try to break into the place, found out that the ranger has turned into a zombie already. Before Daryl headed the truck for the next destination, he executed Jess after he found out that Jess has became a walker. Now the only survivors left are Daryl and Warren.[4]

Daryl arrived the town called Fontana looking for his brother Merle Dixon, lately he heard gun shots came out from a building, assuming that it is a unknown lunatic. Daryl rescued Anna Turner and her friend who are trapped in a restaurant. In exchange for a bag of supplies, Daryl rescued Mia in an abandoned theater before heading for the police station looking for his brother Merle, who is in the the police station where the shots are coming from. They split for memorial hospital scout advises you to keep Mia around and leaves her a book, you look for Merle you has escaped his cell and established a sniper on the roof and he's delusional from being in the sun. After the reunion with Daryl's brother, Merle thought that soldiers were coming for him taking him back to the prison where he has stayed for a while, came out to be the reason he started the shooting. With some explanations from Daryl, Merle joined the group and demanding to go to Jake's as their next destination.[5]

Proceeding to the Oakview for finding medicine for Merle who needs medication, Daryl goes into a lumber mill camp scavenging, later he finds out that someone has cut the fence open causing the walkers pour into the camp, it was broadcasting from a station by a man calling for assistance from his team and the military support. Daryl encountered two survivors Kennedy Owens who was separated from her aunt looking for food supplies, the other one is Mike Swenson who has the medication but he was looking for a ticket out of this camp. By exchanging the goods from each other, Daryl and Mike left the camp heading for Taggart the next location.[6]

While driving on the way to Taggart, Merle wants Daryl to look for a new ride because he believes they were being followed by the army. Daryl found an old woman Charlene Wilson in a projection room who asks Daryl to retrieve her cat Satchmo back from her house. Meanwhile, Daryl asked her to come with him, but she refuses and reasoning that she is too old and will not be able to run anymore no matter how bad things look. At the end Daryl received the car key from the old lady and proceeding to the Lemon hill.[7]

While driving on the way to the bar at Jake's, Daryl and Merle found out there were many walkers heading toward the direction of the bar. Merle wants to stop the walkers from reaching the bar, later they discovered that the town has materials for fireworks that can be perfectly rigged for the church, the sound and the effect of fireworks will be able to draw as many attention from walkers as possible around the town. After they load up the church with fireworks, Daryl pulled the church bell three times signal the commencing of the firework show. After successfully blew the church, Daryl and Merle headed for Barksdale where the Jake's bar located.[8]

Merle said he kept something of Daryl's at Jake's bar when questioned by Daryl of the reason why Merle wants to go back to Jake's eagerly. After arriving at the area where the bar is, Merle instructed Daryl to stay by the car, which Daryl would obviously disobey and look for his brother. It was revealed that Merle went back to get revenge on the gang for selling him out, but he kept Daryl's crossbow as a payback. The gang comes back and knocks Daryl out unconscious, they took all the equipment and food from Daryl, and was left with nothing. However there is one dead gang member has Daryl's crossbow. Daryl continued looking for Merle, his gang, and Daryl's missing equipment. Later Daryl found out that Merle had gone missing while the whole gang died and eaten by walkers. After retrieving Daryl's equipment, he met Anna Turner who was trapped on the bus who was in the previous journey at the diner. She left Daryl and took off with her bag which should belongs to Daryl after promising saving her team member Mia. Daryl gave her a ride heading for the evacuation point Palmetto Estates, also Anna explained the reason why she left the diner is that she must took her friend to the hospital as a duty while the people have needs from her.[9]

Daryl and Anna encountered a road block at Archer Creek, Daryl met Chris Brian while clearing the road. The gate must be opened, otherwise the road cannot be cleared. Therefore, Chris told Daryl in order to get the gate open it is necessary to flip the fuse box in the courtyard. The survivors gave the cover while proceeding to the fuse box. The gate was opened successfully with the help from Chris.[10]

Later Daryl and Anna contacted Anna's father who is a sheriff, planning on meeting at the evacuation point at Palmetto Estates. Meanwhile they arrived at Danvers for serum, Daryl fought his way through the lab and found a lady named Sheila Schneider who is one of the Archer Creek Dam team locked down in the room. Sheila told Daryl that serum is just a fairy tale, the research result has found there is no cure for the disease. Auto security goes on lock down, by solving this, Daryl told Anna to flip the switch and an alarm went off by accident. After escaping the lab, they stopped by Sherwood gathering information about the evacuation. Daryl was on the way to say goodbye to Anna and Anna's father, she left with her father at Sherwood, leaving a small red bag of supply for Daryl before she left.[11]

Scavenging around the area Daryl found two elderly survivors Terry Harrison and his wife who was in bad condition on the bed. He was looking for their daughters Amy and Andrea. Harrison told Daryl to find Aiden who was in charge of signaling the evacuate chopper, also he was hoping Daryl could bring him some antibiotics from the pharmacy to ease his wife's suffering. Daryl found Aiden's wife Jane Carroll who instructed Daryl looking for her husband in the mechanic shop. After retrieving the antibiotics from the pharmacy, Daryl found Aiden who twisted his ankle injuring on the roof of pharmacy. Aiden told Daryl that there is one evacuate helicopter left, and Daryl must search the mechanics shop for Aiden's bag which has the smoke pots to signal the helicopter. After returning back to Harrison, his wife has been shot by Harrison who was turning into walker. And he promises his wife that he will find the girls. After Aiden has his bag back, he told Daryl that he has ninety seconds to tell Jane and Harrison before the pick up. Jane took off and so are the helicopter, Harrison told Daryl that the last evacuation site is Atlanta at Firesign Stadium.[12]

Harrison and Sheila left with Daryl, after arriving the stadium, they found out that the stadium has been raided by walkers already. The walkers killed the soldiers and everyone, but the evacuation was still on. Daryl continued toward the stadium. Headed into the football field, and met Harrison and Sheila at a helicopter. However, Daryl must cleared out the helipad first before take off. In the meantime, Merle arrives in with a military truck. Later Daryl cleared the field with a torrent and wanted to got in the chopper, but Merle held him back while Daryl was confused and angry at him, Merle explained that he saw the pilot was halfway turning with the bite. At the end of the game, Daryl and Merle left the stadium as Merle said to Daryl, "You know I got you back." and Daryl responding "Yeah, I know." [13][14][15]
