The Battle of Duan Valley (also known as the Battle of Duangu) was seventh invasion (fought 256) launched by Jiang Wei during the Three Kingdoms Era of China.

Background[edit]

A year before the battle, Jiang Wei proposed a decree to the Shu Han court request troops to invade Wei once again, being confident that the Northern Tribes would become an advantage for Shu. [1] But Fei Yi rejected Jiang Wei's plot without consulting the Shu consensus, giving him a limited number of troops. Jiang Wei struck Tao River, quickly seizing a victory. Not long after this success, Deng Ai pushed him back. A year later, Jiang Wei asked Hu Ji to attack Qingshan with him, and Hu Ji accepted. Though Hu Ji never arrived and broke his promise.
