Angelikas The Art of Gift is a premium gift and tabletop store located in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Established in 2014 by entrepreneur Mojisola Akinkunmi, Angelikas provides high-end housewares, wedding registries, and gift-giving services.
History[edit]
Inspired by her mother, who ran a successful gift shop for over two decades, Mojisola Akinkunmi launched[1] Angelikas on November 9th, 2014, in Victoria Island, Lagos. The name "Angelikas" pays homage to Moji Akinkunmi's middle name and that of her beloved mother, who serves as her role model and inspiration.
In an interview with Vanguard[2], Mojisola shared her vision behind Angelikas, stating, "Angelika’s was born from my passion for events and table design. It all starts and ends with a beautiful table! So, whether it’s a dinner with friends and family or a wedding party, the most time is spent around a table, so a table-top store was inevitable for me since I was not going to be a full-time event planner."
Revitalizing the Gift Industry[edit]
In launching Angelikas, Mojisola Akinkunmi has sought to shift perspectives on gift-giving in Nigeria's cultural and retail landscape.
