The Fairly OddParents's actual origins premiered as Oh Yeah! Cartoons. The Fairly OddParents first premiered on September 4, 1998 with the episode, "The Fairly OddParents!", plus the first appearance of Timmy Turner, Cosmo, Wanda, and Vicky. The shorts season ended on March 23, 2001 with the short, "Super Humor", a week before the official series began. Before The Fairly OddParents series officially began, The Fairly OddParents aired 10 total shorts through 1998-2001. Each short has been released to DVD.

10-year-old Timmy Turner is left alone by his parents with a cruel babysitter, Vicky. After being sent to his room early, beaten and miserable from Vicky's treatment, Timmy throws his Magic 9-Ball against the wall in frustration. The 9-ball breaks, and from it emerge two Fairy Godparents named Cosmo and Wanda, a fairy couple who can grant nearly anything Timmy wishes for, and they help Timmy retaliate against Vicky. First appearance: Timmy Turner, Vicky the Babysitter, Wanda, Cosmo, Mr. Turner and Mrs. Turner
02	"Too Many Timmys!"	April 7, 2005
Having been left alone with a demanding, "injured" Vicky babysitting him and using him as a servant, Timmy wishes up a bunch of clones to do his chores for him. However, when they scare Vicky out of her mind and chaos ensues, Timmy must recover them and wish them away.
03	"Where's the Wand?"	April 14, 2005
While Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda are playing Greenbeard, Wanda's wand accidentally ends up with Vicky. She uses Wanda's wand as a prop for her fairy costume at her costume party, and Timmy needs to get back the wand since it is granting Vicky's wishes.
04	"Party of Three"	April 21, 2005
Vicky tries to get proof of Timmy having a party while Mom and Dad are out, but fails miserably.
05	"The Fairy Flu"	April 28, 2005
Timmy has been invited to Tootie's birthday party, but has to take Cosmo and Wanda along because they have the fairy flu and he cannot leave them unattended at his house. Unfortunately, Cosmo and Wanda's constant sneezing wreaks havoc upon Tootie, Vicky, the party guests and Timmy himself. First appearance: Tootie Note: This premiered the same day the SpongeBob pilot premiered.
06	"The Temp"	May 5, 2005
Timmy Turner gets a substitute godparent while Cosmo and Wanda are at boot camp, but the substitute, Jeff, can only make toys; it turns out that Jeff is a runaway elf from the North Pole. First appearance: Jeff, other elves, Jorgen von Strangle Absent: Mrs. Turner, Vicky, and Mr. Turner
07	"The Zappys"	May 12, 2005
Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda are nominated for a fairy award show, but Jorgen Von Strangle, the toughest fairy in the universe, uses his power to "persuade" the judges not to let the fairies win; Timmy's left buck tooth is loose. Absent: Vicky
08	"Scout's Honor"	May 19, 2005
Timmy tries to earn his "Capturing a Mythical Creature" Squirrelly Scout badge; Vicky tortures her scout group. Absent: Mrs. Turner
09	"The Really Bad Day"	May 26, 2005
For one day in a certain number of years, a fairy godparent has to be "bad," and it is Cosmo's turn to do so. However, the only problem is that he fails constantly at being "bad." Timmy and Wanda try to help him and enlist in the help of the conqueror Genghis Khan to teach him how to be bad, but soon, Cosmo has a plan to blow up the earth. Note: Released in theatres in the UK before Rugrats in Paris in 2001. Absent: Mrs. Turner and Mr. Turner
10	"Super Humor"	June 2, 2005
Wanting to be a superhero, Timmy tests out superpowers on himself. Absent: Vicky

Other shorts[edit]

Nickelodeon showed the first three Crimson Chin webisodes compiled with all of the Oh Yeah! Cartoons shorts except for "Where's the Wand?" and Mary Kay Bergman's Timmy voice was redubbed by Tara Strong. However, they have stopped airing due to the television special premiere of The Big Superhero Wish.
