From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Whole Genome Amplification Whole Genome Amplification, or WGA, refers to technologies which attempt to amplify all of the DNA in a sample. This is in contrast to methods such as the Polymerase Chain Reaction which amplify specific targets within DNA. Examples of WGA methods include Multiple Displacement Amplification, rolling circle amplification (RCA), ligation-mediated PCR and degenerate-oligonucleotide-primed PCR (DOP-PCR).
