Naoki Montoya is a footballer who currently plays as a striker for the Belgium Team Koninklijke Daring Huvo Jeuk (KDH Jeuk).

Life[edit]

Naoki Montoya was born in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands to Celso and Patricia Montoya. The middle child of the family, Naoki has an older and younger sister. [1] Following his father's footsteps, Naoki first began playing football at the age of 7 for his local school football team. At the age of 12 Naoki attended school in Costa Rica. During this time, Naoki played for the C.S. Herediano team for two years (2007 - 2009) before returning home to complete his IGCSEs. While home, Naoki was a member of the Bodden Town Football Club which is a Cayman Islands football club. He played the position of Midfield. [2] He alo took advantage of the Cayman Islands Football Association camp held in conjunction with top Dutch side PSV at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex. There he met Coach Roy Wilhem, a renowned Coach from Holland. The Coach was impressed with Naoki's talent and encouraged him to try his luck overseas. [3]

Naoki left the Cayman Islands in 2010 for England to pursue his dream of playing professional football in Europe. Since England was the easiest step he went to a small club near London, Cirencester. He was only 15 then but the right winger was full of ambition. Naoki, played for Cirencester Football Academy between 2011 - 2013. [4] During this time, Naoki made an impression on the coaches and fans alike scoring many goals. [5]

After his time in England, Naoki ventured to Holland to live and train with Coach Roy Wilhelm where he signed with a Belgium team.

Football Career[edit]

Naoki first signed a contract valid for a year with a professional Belgian Team, HIH Hoepertingen in Summer 2014.[6] In June 2015, Futbolista World, a company that promotes football in the Cayman Islands released a video detailing Naoki's Journey to becoming a professional footballer. [7] Naoki also played with the Under-23 Cayman National Football Team during this time. [8] In July 2015, Naoki signed with Koninklijke Daring Huvo Jeuk (KDH Jeuk) a Belgian Team in the fifth division.[9]
