Pteruthius Swainson, 1832 7 OR Swai 1832 1 Shrike-babblers are Old World members of Vireonidae (Reddy 2008); resequence. Pteruthiidae is a newly proposed family for the shrike-babblers based on its age of divergence, geographic origin and morphological differences from core Vireonidae (Sangster et al. 2022).
Erpornis Hodgson, 1844 1 OR Hodg 1844 2 Move Erpornis from babblers (Timaliidae) to vireos (Vireonidae) (Reddy & Cracraft 2007; Reddy 2008). Change English name to White-bellied Erpornis; it is not a yuhina. Erpornithidae is a newly proposed monotypic family for Erpornis based on its age of divergence, geographic origin and morphological differences from core Vireonidae (Sangster et al. 2022).
