History[edit]

The Schooner Charlotte Ann was built in 1888 as the oyster dredge Rebecca Schoch. Her official number at enrollment was 110764. She had a length of 62 feet by a beam of 19 feet. Her draft was 5-1/2 feet with the centerboard up. When the vessel was not under sail power she was equipped with a Detroit 6-71 diesel engine. This engine was from a tank. The area of sail was 2,250 square feet. This vessel was rebuilt in 1970 and re-named Chalotte Ann by John & Marge Woodside of Wappingers Falls, New York. Later this vessel would be sold to owners in Chicago, Illinois. The vessel was used for charters and in the summer months a special Whale Watch cruise was held each year. This cruise featured performers Tom and Chris Kastle.
