Driver of the Day[edit]
In 2016, the FIA introduced the "Driver of the Day"-election. During every race, fans could vote on their favourite F1 pilot via the Formula 1 website[1], with the "DotD"-election initially ending at the same time as the race. Since 2020, the poll closes a lap prior to the finish. Directly after the finish, the winner's name is broadcast; since 2020, the 'DotD' is interviewed during the lap after finishing. Max Verstappen is so far racking up the most wins. In contrast, Nico Rosberg only won the election once during his 2016 world championship season.

- ^ Immediately after the race, Kubica was shown on the website to have won the election ("Driver of the Day? Kubica, of course…".), but his name did not come up in the live broadcast. On the Tuesday following the race, the FIA announced there had been a 'technical error' and that Verstappen, with an exceptional 74% of the vote, was DotD instead ("Max Verstappen crowned Austrian Grand Prix Driver of the Day".).
