Greg Haberny[edit]

Greg Haberny is an American contemporary artist and filmmaker.

Career[edit]

Known for his constantly changing styles, subject matter and mediums, he burns his older sociopolitical work and makes paint out of the ash to create new paintings and pieces of pottery.^[1]

Influenced by his background in filmmaking, Haberny's installations transform the gallery space into an all-encompassing experience of sight and sound.^[2]

Haberny exhibits internationally. Notable exhibitions include Dismaland in Weston-Super-Mare,^[3] and Spring Break Art Fair in Miami.^[4]

In 2015 along with Stefan Ashkenazy of Petit Ermitage Hotel, Haberny began building his own private museum and art residency in Bombay Beach, California which started the Bombay Beach Biennale.^[5]

Haberny's artist residencies include The Fountainhead Residency^[6] and McColl Center for Art + Innovation.^[7]
