Rod Christian Tolentino born on December 25, 1984 in San Juan City. Little is known of his youth, but early on he entered a life of player, eventually heading west and joining a Kasikatan.
In 2003,he lead the team in points averaging 21.3 and won the leagues rookie of the year. Despite his lack of good team mates,, Kasikatan enters quarters only to loose to eventual champions Bliss. The following year, the team continuously losing leaving them a 2-8 record and failed to qualify at the wildcard.
The Era
In 2005. Facing numerous disappointments, the team decides to trade Lalot to Gabs, a san joaquin standout. Tolentino & Oliveros give a team a duo that give them multiple wins. Tolentino sets the teams best shooting % at 47.9% a game with a league high of 30.3 pts a game, good enough to capture his 1st MVP. Kasikatan march to the finals and defeated the dynasty of bliss 2-0. Highlighted by special plays. In Game 1, Manalo scores 31 as Kasikatan shame the Bliss 97-67 before heading to a Game 2 thriller. Kasikatan won that 89-88 in overtime where Tolentino hits the game tying 3 pointer at the regulation and the game winning shot in the overtime. Kasikatan continuously Dominates the league for 7 consecutive years, breaking the record of villa in the 90's of 6 straight championships. Tolentino won 5 MVPs out of their 7 championships.
In 2012 Tolentino announced his retirement from the team to pursue his dream.
