Swiftspace Inc is a Canadian Company located in Ayr Ontario. The company was formed out of the belief that workers still want to have a workspace they can call their own. The issue for employers is that today’s workspaces are too complex and labour intensive to be set-up, they require specialty installation, and are inflexible and immobile. Swiftspace Inc's goal is to offer fast and flexible work space solutions for both office and production facilities.

History

Swiftspace Inc was launched in 2009 By Dean McIntyre and Jerry O’Brien. McIntyre is the president of McIntyre Group Office Services, an office furniture installation and warehousing company. O’Brien, an Operations Manager for McIntyre, is responsible for the initial idea of the Swiftspace design. A typical individual work station arrives on site with 50 to 75 pieces to assemble, considering an office environment usually has multitudes of individual stations this inevitably results in hours of labour intensive setup. O’Brien was convinced there was an easier method that could be used that would not require such labour; he envisioned a one piece workstation that had the ability to fold. With the initial product designed by O’Brien, Swiftspace added Rob Way as a third partner as CEO with the responsibility to grow the company. Way was previously the owner of Softcare Innovations, a company responsible for the design, manufacturing, and distribution of furniture created for the Healthcare Industry. Since it's inception the company has produced multiple product lines that provide modern, functional, and user friendly products. Swiftspace products have been designed to be assembled on site in less than two minutes without any specialized training required. Desking and benching systems are not new concepts, but what sets Swiftspace products apart from the rest is the innovative way they are put to use. Though Swiftspace product lines are built for durability and very long term use, they are also highly maneuverable, easily stored and can be used to transform a space multiple times in a single day. These systems have been built to alleviate the need for business owners and managers to predict the future. Swiftspace workstations allow a space to adapt with the needs of the staff.

Transportation

Product ships in approximately 15% of the space of a standard workstation and has about 40-50% less weight both of which translate into a reduced carbon footprint. Major suppliers are located within a 50 mile radius of the Swiftspace facility. All aluminum and panel parts are shipped from major suppliers on reusable skids. Products ship on casters with a single cardboard sleeve, therefore product does not require tow motors for offloading or putting in place.

No Installers Required

Swiftspace products do not require the use of installers for set-up. This saves fuel costs of installers travelling to site. There are no installers required for reconfiguration and movement of products of Swiftspace products.

Certification

All Foresight and Solo stations are MAS Certified Green for a healthier indoor environment.

Materials

Swiftspace uses Wilsonart Laminates. All Wilsonart Laminates products meet the Greenguard Standard for Low Emitting Products. The particleboard and medium density fibre-board substrates are CARB Compliant as they are produced using no added urea-formaldehyde resin process, and are made from 100% recycled and/or recovered (pre-consumer wood material). Adhesives used for laminating are solvent free water based PVA that meet Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Standards for Low Emitting Products for the Adhesive and Sealant Category. The production of the polycarbonate used in the upper panels uses over 99% of the raw material. Any edge trim or other scrap material is reground and utilized into other polycarbonate products. Typically the polycarbonate contains up to 20% of reground material. The powdercoat material meets the LEED Indoor Quality Credit 4.2 for Low emitting Material Paints and Coatings and emits zero VOC when fully cured. Packaging is made of recycled content and designed for reuse where possible. All vinyl station covers are 100% made from scrap searing upholstery gathered diverted from landfill.
