About Me[edit]

I am a library and museum professional who is interested in connecting collections to communities using technology. I love archives and I am interested in the efforts of GLAM and Creative Commons licensing towards making library and museum collections more accessible. My academic interests are in history and art history (particularly the Victorian period and the Pre-Raphaelites).

Conflict of Interest Statement [edit]

I, User:LauraRuthBarry am an employee for the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. I will not make any edits that would not be beneficial to the goals of Wikipedia.

My main edits tend to consist of the following activities:

  • Creating and editing pages about events, individuals, and places from D.C.'s history.
  • Creating and editing pages about Victorian Book Illustration, the Pre-Raphaelites, and English Literature.
  • Adding authoritative references and citations to existing pages of all types.
  • Participating in GLAM and Wikimedia DC initiatives.

I will modify my editing behavior based on problems cited by other editors or if my editing conflicts with other Wikipedia guidelines. I ask that other editors do not hesitate to contact me, via my user talk page, if I appear to be going against this declaration.
