I am a Canadian citizen born in Montreal.

I have majored in mechanical engineering in 1984 from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and then finished a Master's degree in Robotics in the same Institution around 1987. This last MScA was partly fudned by CAMCO, a General Electric subsidiary. I have worked in large scale engineering projects until and realized automation of various aluminum smelters. I designed the Fire and Gas system on the Hibernia platform. In 1996, I then moved to Lausanne in Switzerland to to research on high speed robotics at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. Later, I moved to France where I did a PhD in parallel robot kinematics and simulation to design high speed milling machines. I have worked in Bilbao Spain for a few months and now work in England as a Research Fellow on robotics developping adaptable robotics and automatic robot programming for Leyland Trucks, a subsidiary of PACCAR and also work on robust mobile robot algorithms for harsh environments.

I do have a lot of interests in many areas such as culture, history and arts. I have participated in several choirs and theatre productions. I have also worked for human rights in France, especially for homeless and handicaped people. I am deeply concerned by the survival of all national minorities such as the franco-american in North America.

I am deeply interested by history of Quebec and Canada but also the technology breakthroughs that we have produced. Therefore, I wish to contribute to bring Wikipedia to the level of an encyclopedia in these topics.

I am the descendant of Francois Lenoir dit Rolland who happened to be the founder of the Fort Lachine and to accompany Cavelier de Lasalle on his trips.
