Legurme is a food brand of YAYLA AGRO Gıda Sanayi ve Nakliyat A.Ş. operating in the pulses and ready-to-eat food sector. The headquarter of the company is in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. Production facilities with an annual production and packaging capacity of 1.165.000 thousand tons are in port city Mersin, Ankara, Çankırı and Balıkesir. Legurme, the international brand of Yayla AGRO A.Ş, which has been operating in the food sector with more than 700 employees in Turkey and abroad since 1983, started its commercial activities in the international arena by obtaining trademark registration in 2019.

Today, Legurme carries out commercial relations with more than 75 countries and continues marketing activities under the brand support program of the Turkish Republic’s Ministry of Economy, TURQUALITY, with the main target markets of Germany, Netherlands, England, China and Romania. In addition to its own products, the brand manufactures private label production for many well-known brands worldwide. In accordance with its production policy, Legurme does not use additives, preservatives and colorants in its products, and uses BPA-free packaging.

History:

• It was established in 1983 under the name of Durukan Gıda.

• It was acquired by Hasan Gümüş in 1998 and has started to serve after becoming YAYLA AGRO Gıda Sanayi ve Nakliyat A.Ş.

• In 2002, Ankara Head Office and a new storage center were opened.

• In 2005, The Çankırı Paddy Plant was opened.

• In 2007, Ankara Central Plant was opened.

• In 2008, the Foreign Trade Organization was completed.

• The warehouse of thousand square meters in Mersin ranks 378th in the Fortune 500.

• The Mersin Plant was opened in 2010.

• In 2011, the Russian operation was centralized. Contractual cultivation was started in Russia.

• In 2011 Canadian office was opened, Canada and US operations were centralized.

• In 2012 Mersin Plant started to operate at full capacity.

• In 2013 European operations were centralized.

• In 2015 the Balıkesir Gönen Paddy Plant ranked 236th in the 2015 Fortune 500 List.

• In 2017, R&D activities for the Ready to Eat series started.

• In 2019, Ready to eat series was launched to the market.

• In the 2020 Fortune 500 Turkey list, the brand jumped 16 places and rose to 214th place with its net sales figure in 2019. Compared to 2018, net sales increased by 29%.

• Yayla AGRO took 233rd place in the list according to the 2019 results of the "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises" survey, which was announced for the 52nd time by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO). Compared to 2018, Yayla AGRO's sales production increased by 13.2% in 2019.

R&D

Twenty-six people work in the R&D Center of the company, which allocates 05-1 percent of its turnover to R&D and P&D investments every year. It ranks 369th in the list of companies that make the highest R&D spending in Turkey, announced by Turkishtime Magazine.
