Terry Anderson (Professor) so much content here...

Terry Anderson is professor emeritus at Athabasca University where he held the Canada Research Chair in Distance Education [1] He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Calgary (date? Thesis reference?) Anderson and his colleagues were the most cited authors in distance education (2009-2013), according to a scholarly review of the major distance education journal research published between in that period Bozkurt et al (2015). Terry Anderson, Randy Garrison and Archer introduced the Community of Inquiry (COI) framework to online learning (Garrison, D.R, Anderson, T., & Archer, W., 2000), producing a series of articles demonstrating the efficacy of appropriate online teaching and social presence in supporting critical and practical enquiry (Insert references -- Garrison, Anderson, Archer 2010?). In 2005, Terry published the seminal text Interaction Equivalency Theory, which has been cited 934 times by distance education scholars and researchers (Google Scholar, April 2019). Terry also edited, and contributed three chapters, to The theory and practice of online learning, 2nd ed. (Anderson, 2008) which won the Charles E. Wedemeyer Award for the outstanding book of 2008, awarded by the University Continuing Education Association. In 1992, Anderson organised the first virtual conference ever held on the Internet (Anderson & Mason, 1993), providing global online access to the International Council for Open and Distance Education International Congress held in Bangkok. In 2008 Terry founded the Canadian Institute for Distance education Research (CIDER) which provides free web conferences for distance education researchers across the globe [2]

(((Terry has authored or co-authored 10 books, 37 book chapters and 93 peer-reviewed research articles. Since 2010 all of his scholarly work has only been published in open access formats. Omit this? No references?)

His thoughts and writings on online education and educational technology can be found on the educational blog Virtual Canuck [3]
