How can we fight the Covid-19 Pandemic? Covid-19 has been around now in the Philippines since it originated from China. A mysterious disease that later became a pandemic that changed the lives of many people. Since most of us are new to this we were not able to prepare ourselves and the disease spread like wildfire all over the world. I as a student, and also a part of the community has a role to play in fighting this pandemic. I believe that in order for us to end the pandemic we must do our part and it should start in ourselves. In order for this to happen we must first educate ourselves about the so called Covid-19. What is COVID-19? Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

HOW IT SPREADS The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.

Now as we already have educated ourselves about the COVID-19 we now have to proceed on how we can prevent it from infecting us. These are the things that I think we should do in order to fight the pandemic: • Frequent proper hand washing with soap (every after touching surfaces that many people also touches) • Taking a bath after going outside • Wearing of face mask when going outside your house • Only go outside when you have a very important thing to do • Avoid going to social gatherings and always keep in mind the proper social distancing • Avoid talking to people who are sick and keep your distance with them • Also disinfecting and cleaning of frequently touched objects and surfaces • Cough or sneeze in your elbow – not your hands! • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth And that concludes all the things that I think we should do to fight the Pandemic.
