Eva Pierrakos[1] was born in 1915 in Vienna, to the well-known Austrian novelist Jakob Wasserman. She founded a system for self-transformation called the Pathwork, and the Pathwork lectures.

She left Austria and relocated to Switzerland where she attended the Jungian Institute in 1939. From 1957 - 1979, she was deeply involved into a series of 258 Pathwork lectures.

In 1967 Eva met John Pierrakos and married him in 1971. In 1972 Eva established Phoenicia Pathwork Center in Catskills of New York. In 1976 Eva supported and guided the founding of Sevenoaks Pathwork Center in Madison, Virginia.

Eva Pierrakos died in 1979. Since then the Pathwork Foundation has expanded from the two centers opened in 1979 to include work across North America and Europe, with newer centers now functioning in Africa, South America, and Australia. The Pathwork Foundation is headquartered at 13013 Collingwood Ter., Silver Spring, MD 20904-1414.
