Biden, marking a historic milestone as he became the first individual outside the banking sector to be chosen as a presidential appointee for this position.
In his capacity as Associate Administrator, Francisco Sánchez Jr. bears the crucial responsibility of elevating the significance of business and economic recovery. He has embarked on a mission to revamp the agency's disaster enterprise, aiming to provide enhanced support to the 33 million small businesses, renters, and homeowners across America. Francisco Sánchez Jr. brings with him a wealth of experience in the fields of emergency management, recovery, and strategic planning. He has played pivotal roles on command staff during four of the nation's ten most costly natural disasters. Prior to his appointment, he served at the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management in Texas.
