Joanna Pearl (born Aug. 25, 1984 in Berwyn, Ill.) is a Southern California-based singer/songwriter.

Music[edit]

Joanna Pearl is scheduled to release her first EP of original work in August 2014. The album, “#SensitiveMaterial,” includes “Whisper The Wind,” a tribute to her beloved grandmother whom died from breast cancer. “Whisper The Wind” was placed in "Murphy," an independent film.

Notable performances[edit]

Has opened for MC Hammer [1], Tyrone Wells [2] and Andy Grammer. Sang the national anthem for the 2013 Amgen Bicycle Tour Stage 2 in Murrieta, Calif. [3].

Musical background[edit]

Joanna Pearl performed in show choir throughout her high school career. It was through a talent show that she became involved with OC Hit Factory and began her professional career. She is a member of The Recording Academy, Grammy Museum and a founding member of the OC Hit Factory Songwriting Camps.

Genre[edit]

Her music is a combination of pop, rock, soul and blues, having been inspired by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Early life[edit]

An only child, the Temecula, Calif. resident moved with family (Hazelwood) from Illinois to live in Lake Elsinore, Calif. in 1989. She attended school in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District and graduated from Temescal Canyon High School.

Ethnicity[edit]

Joanna Pearl is Irish, German, Native American, Sri Lankan and Scottish.
