Man in shack is an amateur programmer and student of Software engineering at a university in Melbourne, Australia. He prefers to program in Python, but is also proficient in Java, C, Pascal and others. He has recently contributed patches to the Deluge (BitTorrent client) project.

Man in shack is also highly capable in web-related technologies, such as HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and SQL.

The name Man in shack is a reference to a character in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (radio series). The Man in the shack appears in Fit the Twelfth, and is the ruler of the universe.
