YiXi is a speaking platform in China for sharing experiences and ideas and publishes videos of talks online. The name YiXi comes from the ancient Chinese idiom “听君一席话，胜读十年书” (“Ting Jun Yi Xi Hua, Sheng Du Shi Nian Shu,” meaning, “I benefit more from listening to your talk than from ten years of studying books.”)
Each time, audiences are selected through online applications to attend the live event. At each event, 8 to 10 speakers give talks in turn; each speech usually lasts for 20 to 30 minutes.

YiXi was founded in 2012, the speaking events are held monthly at a theater in a city. Since August 2012, YiXi live events have been held in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Taipei. As of February 2015, over 300 talks are freely available on its website[1].

Over 300 speakers have shared their ideas and experiences on the stage of YiXi. Past YiXi speakers include film director Jia Zhangke, writer Geling Yan, pianist Xiang-dong Kong, etc.

Zhi Ya[edit]
Zhi Ya is the name of a series video program made by YiXi. Different from the speaking event in the theaters, videos of Zhi Ya do not have specific topics, it allows speakers to sit in front of the camera and share their experiences in a more comfortable way.
