Mohammed Lawal Masaud (Born 04 March 1990) ,known as MARAFA, Also Known Profesionally as 9ja tricks. Hes a Nigerian magician, illutionist, Actor and a voice over artist, He is in one of the leading role in a series called Wuff by North east records Hes aslo recognized for his use of card manipulation and sleight of hand. He is known for elaborate close-up card magic routines hes a self taught,he recently unveiled the tricks used by fake imams to deceive people, he also share his magic tricks on his instagram page.@9ja_tricks

Early Life[edit]

Mohammed Marafa was born in Katsina local government, Katsina state,in the northern part of Nigeria in 1990. His father Alhaji Masa'ud lawal was also from Katsina state and his Mother from Katsina state also, later his father Alhaji Masaud was transferred to Lagos, which Marafa grew up there, after some years they finally got transferred to Kaduna which after 10years they where transferred again to Katsina then later to kano but currently based in Kaduna state. he is fascinated with magic tricks since 2015 ,he was into various kind of business such as perfumery and phone accessories.

Education[edit]

He attended Ahmadu bello University Zaria. Which he studied Diploma in Management After high school education, he received a A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree from same Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He did his National Service in Kano, Kano State.

Acting Career[edit]

His acting blooms after his first appearance in a skit called 'Duniyan damfara' which later on the skit turns out to be a series, he is best known for his role in a series called wuff as a barrister , Marafa starred in several series like sirin kyau, meenat ,duniyar damfara , naladidi

Magic Career[edit]

Marafa took up magic as his career in 2015, he was discovered around 2019, began to tour across the nation, his appearance in big dream talent hunt ,de9ja spirit talent hunt , Arewa Got Talent.

“I like virtually everything about magic,” marafa says. “Especially amazing people and making them wonder how magic is created before their eyes.”

He post short magic tricks videos on his instagram page include daily riddle. Some of his videos where reviewed by one of the great magician Chris Ramsay

He also took a part in exposing people using tricks to deceive people and collect money.

He also drop tutorials on the same youtube channel for people that hav intrest in magic tricks.

The idea of revealing some magic trick secret he does on his youtube channel 9ja tricks to creat awareness.

Boasting Northern Nigeria heritage, marafa performs a series of optical illusions, method tricks, and card magic for his increasing followership that center his ethnic origin.

Not only that Marafa performs his magic trick at event, such as wedding ,birthday celebration, stages and more

Mohammed Marafa believes in the power of magic and the wonder it can inspire. Since getting into tricks and illusions a little over 6 years ago, he has steadily been working on improving his craft.

In 2018 he single handedly sponsors a youtube series duniyan damfara which hav over 200k views in one month

In 2019 he contested in big dreams talent hunt Nigeria

In 2020 he was given award of most talented actor by Arewa Got talent.

In 2021 he contested in the talent hunt Nigeria called de9jaspirittalent hunt calabar

In 2021 he performed at transcope hilton Abuja the throne of laughter 4.0 by mc tagwaye
