The following year was Mark's second panto but decided that, because of his prelims, he would not audition for any principle role. But this all changed two days before the show was due to premiere. One of the main principles had fallen ill and there was no way she could do the show, and so Mark was picked to fill in. He had to learn the quite lengthy part of Ronald Rat overnight for the technical rehearsal the next day and then learn stage directions, a song and a dance. He succeeded this seemingly impossible task and was praised by the other cast members and management team. On top of this, his new double act partner fell ill halfway through the shows run and played his part (Roland Rat) for one show whilst the original Ronald returned for the rest of the run. The next show was the famous We Will Rock You amateur production Schools Weill Rock You where he played the evil Khashoggi, Killer Queen's henchman. Although it was an amateur production the show was a major success and came back due to popular demand. All of the shows were sellouts! Next came the hilarious version of Beauty and the Beast.
