Prof. Dr. Celina María Matteri ( 1943 - 2004 ) was botany , brióloga and Exploratory Argentina .[1]

In 1964, she received a professor in Natural Sciences from the Instituto Superior del Profesorado JV González. of Buenos Aires, and of Doctor in Natural Sciences by the National University of La Plata, in 1968 .In 1969, she entered CONICET, as an initiation fellow, after improvement and, since 1973, a scientific and technological researcher.

In 1980, she was an external fellow of CONICET, carrying out work on ecology and taxonomy of mosses in the "Botanic Transect Program of Southern Patagonia" with Dr. SW Greene, in the "Institute of Land Ecology, Bush Estate, Scotland. Period, and between 1988 and 1992, she visited various herbariums in Edinburgh , London , Geneva , Paris , Australia , Tasmania , New Zealand , USA , acquiring extensive knowledge of the flora of world mosses .
