Maria was born in Minneapolis to Greek immigrants. Her father was a flavor chemist leading new product R&D, and her mother is an interior designer.

She attended Vassar College with a major in Science, Technology and Society, and earned her MSc in Library and Information Science at the School of Informatics, City University London.

After living and working in 2 continents, 4 countries, and 6 cities - she now resides in the Bay Area with her husband and baby daughter. She works as a digital asset manager and creates her own logistics/S&D software.

Her interests include art history, archeology, cooking, folk music, electronic music and interior design.

Maria has worked pro bono as a digital librarian for The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and has experience managing digital libraries with collections focusing on information domains such as finance, textiles for interiors, video game content, manufacturing IP, sports news publishing, continuing education, home economics, and fashion and stock photography.
