I am Mark Keatinge, an Australian who has been living in Bali for many years.
Non stop for 24 years and intermittently for almost 40 years (first visit in September 1973 by yacht)
I am married to a Balinese (since 1993) with two daughters and I have an older daughter by my first marriage.
In Bali I am proudly a full member of Banjar Dangin Peken, Desa Interan, Sanur Kauh, Sanur.
In Sanur there are 3 foreign members of banjars.
Banjar Dangin Peken is a registered operator of the International Award for Young People - known in Indonesia as Adinugraha International.
With my wife I run a large prefabricated building factory in Ketewel, Gianyar.
I am an active member of YKIP (Yayasan Kemanusiaan Ibu Pertiwi) or the Humanitarian Foundation for Mother Earth which is dedicated to helping the needy in Bali through education programs. YKIP was started immediately after the first bombing in Bali.
I am a shipwright and sailor.
Bali and Indonesia has been kind to me and I hope that I give back at least a little.
I have a family history of living in Asia, directly decending from Henry Eldred Curwen Pottinger who was one of the "players" in the great game in the early 19th Century and was the first Governor of Hong Kong and also Richard Harte Keatinge who fought in the Indian Mutiny, sorry, Indian War of Independence.
