Abdulrahman Abouammoh Abdulrahman M. Abouammoh PhD (عبدالرحمن محمد أبوعمه) (born 1951) is a Saudi academician, previous member of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, and a retired Professor of statistics and operation research at King Saud University.[1] He currently works as a part-time consultant for the General Authority for Statistics. Abouammoh is known for his contribution in advancing higher education in Saudi Arabia.[2]

Career[edit]

Abouammoh was assigned as a demonstrator at King Saud University in 1973. After obtaining a PhD from University of Strathclyde in 1978, he returned to King Saud University as an Assistant Professor. Abouammoh got promoted to full professor in 1989. During his career, he served as head of department of Statistics and Operation Research, vice dean at College of Postgraduate Studies, vice dean at College of Science, dean for College of Science, member of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia in its second cycle, member of the board of trustees at Alfaisal University, full time consultant for the ministry of higher education, and part-time consultant for many other governmental bodies including the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers and the National Information Center at the Ministry of Interior.

Publications[edit]

Abouammoh published more than 100 scientific articles,[3] and around 10 books and 3 translations that covered both statistics and higher education issues, [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] he also contributed articles to local magazines and newspapers.
