About Mathili Nath[edit]
Mathili is a designer based in Delhi, who works under her own label, Mathili's. She?s been on the fashion circuit for over a decade and half, producing her own line and supplying to a vast majority of brands and retail stores around India.
Unlike many other designers in the country today, Mathili acquired a foothold in the fashion industry without a formal education and her passion for designing clothes goes way back to her early school days. Mathili?s designs are largely works of ornamental detail etched out in unusual and immaculate handloom fabrics. With a fondness for texture and an unbound fascination with Indian culture and history, her line is a comprehensive collection of gracious Indian wear and an entire semi-formal range that Indian women have come to accept and love globally.
Mathili?s was conceived with the idea to revisit traditional wear and convey them to the masses in a contemporary manner, albeit staying true to the purpose. The notion was to create elaborate and catchy designs, bearing in mind the sensibilities and tastes of the modern Indian woman. Over the years, Mathili?s has become a brand that surfaces at countless stores across the country. Their recent compositions are essentially handiworks in the timeworn Maheshwari fabric crowned with dazzling embroidery.
Each of Mathili?s creations are different from her previous works ? In the midst of an enormous institution like Ivory palace her family concern, which features a myriad of extensive art works, she finds herself surrounded by concepts that turn up in the form of shapes and tessellations which go on to become the heart of her earliest sketches.
Mathili's is also a front runner in reviving the age-old tradition of handloom by working extensively with weavers and handmade textiles. Since the inception of mill and factory rendered synthetic fabrics and their very limited costs of production, only a few have looked back on this aesthetically rich approach to designing. Mathili?s prides itself on electing the conventional procedure, remaining faithful to the one true method to designing clothes in India.

Designing has been a passion in me since teenage years which allowed me to squeeze in time for short courses at the NIFT during holiday sessions. I have been retailing my collection under my label “Mathili’s” from boutiques in Hyderabad(Elahe,Also), Mumbai(Aza), Delhi (Aza,Signature), Kolkota(Krishna Fashions,You Ensembles)Bangalore(Collage) and Jaipur(Chrisalis).I also do caftans for Ms.Soad Belefki ,a designer of Saudi Arabia who also caters to royalty. thumb
