Request for the unlock of Chicken and Rice[edit]

I know this article was delete a long time ago. This article has established notability over time and has been recreated at 53rd and 6th (not by me). I viewed the article and believe it passed wikipedia notability. I was wondering if a redirect could be made for Chicken and Rice to redirect to 53rd and 6th. Also what is a proper protocol for a recreated deleted article that has established notability? Valoem talk 01:00, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Hey thanks a lot. I have just one more question, I recently recreated a deleted article Joe's Shanghai. I thought maybe with time thing become more notable. I believe the article changed drastically during the time it went through AfD and if I remember correctly the final version was very well cited. But some was initial votes were counted without seeing the new version. I was wondering if I could see a copy of that last version so i could edit it and put it over this current version or if you could restore it. :) Valoem talk 05:14, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Thanks you so much. :) Valoem talk 18:25, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Plural of virus[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Plural of virus, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

This is essentially an essay, relevant material should be incorporated into Virus and Wiktionary:Virus

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

Speedy deletion of Effort force[edit]

A tag has been placed on Effort force, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

CSD A1 or A3- the article gives no context or information. The information that is provided is already covered (and better covered) in other articles

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

For the record, I reviewed the page history and I'm not entirely sure what's going on with the article- it seems to have been expanded then stripped bare several times by a series of IP editors so you might well have grounds to contest it if you can add to it. Orphaned non-free media (File:Shuffle-mayumi.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shuffle-mayumi.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'm Bonziiznob from the RuneScape Wiki. Although I'm not sure if you will respond to this, I'd like to know if Jagex has made any attempt to contact you with regards to trying to setup some sort of relationship or affiliation. Rollback Request[edit]

Hi Merovingian, I was wondering if you could grant me the Rollback permission. I feel that I can even further help the community with this permission. I have started a few pages of my own, as well as adding to many others. I believe that in between these other projects I can help further assist with vandalism and other such reasons why a rollback would be needed. Thanks. Kjp993 (talk) 04:23, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Mick Hastie[edit]

The article Mick Hastie has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly-sourced biography, lacking in detail, self-sourced, and his political donations don't make him notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rodhullandemu 22:46, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Roosevelt giving speech.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Roosevelt giving speech.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:55, 5 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:55, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:Inclined plane.gif[edit]

File:Inclined plane.gif is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Inclined plane.gif. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Inclined plane.gif]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 12:59, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Douglas Harbor[edit]

09:28, 7 September 2009 Merovingian (talk | contribs) deleted "Douglas Harbor" ‎ (refers to harbor elsewhere, with this spelling)

Forgive me for asking, but shouldn't you then have opened a stub to define the existence of this alternative "harbor elsewhere"? Seems prudent following a deletion of a redirect for this reason. --Gregory J Kingsley (talk) 14:33, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Coast to coast am logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Coast to coast am logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 20:58, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of The Nerdies discography[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Nerdies discography requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
