Hip Hop Enquirer Magazine (HHE) is an online hip hop magazine based in Atlanta, Georgia. The magazine covers breaking news, fashion & lifestyle, special features and celebrity interviews. The HHE brand also incorporates Hip Hop Enquirer TV. The stated mission of HHE is "to bring to lovers of hip hop the entire culture uncut and uncensored!"
The HHE brand was founded by Dennis Byron. Byron is a former Senior writer for Hip Hop Weekly, one of the nation's top Hip Hop publications.
Although the magazine can currently be found in an online format only, there are plans to launch the first printed issue of the magazine in February 2013.
In 2010, only one year after the official launch of the magazine, HHE was nominated for a YGEA Award for Online Magazine of the Year.
Background[edit]
Byron is a New York native, raised in the Bronx area of New York City. He attended City University New York- John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he studied Political Science and Criminal Justice. He also attended Pace University. Prior to becoming a reporter, Byron worked as a Senior Staff Accountant at Polygram Records and a Auditor at Pepsi-Cola. He was also a consultant at Ruff Ryders Records, where he assisted the VP of Artist Development with various signed artists including Eve, DMX, The Lox, Drag On, and others.
Byron began as a Senior Contributing Writer for Hip Hop Weekly in 2007. He was responsible for many breaking stories in the hip hop scene. It was during his time at Hip Hop Weekly that he began exploring the option of starting his own publication. In January of 2008, Byron became Editor-In-Chief of his new business venture now known as Hip Hop Enquirer (HHE) Magazine. Byron very openly thanks three colleagues from Hip Hop Weekly on HHE's website in an open letter describing his road to success: Cavario H., Dave Mays, and Raymond Scott.

"While working with some of the most talented people at Hip Hop Weekly has been very rewarding to me, one comes to a place in the road where there is nowhere else to travel and then a decision has to be made to change direction in order to get to a more suitable place in one’s career. It was for this reason, I decided to start my own publication and bring in some of the most talented individuals in hip hop while still providing quality news & entertainment people have grown to appreciate with my relationship with Hip Hop Weekly. "
Byron has been a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) since January of 2010. In May of 2012, Byron was hired by TMZ as a researcher, covering hip hop news stories in The South.
Company Makeup[edit]
The HHE brand encompasses two major online media outlets for consumers. First is the Hip Hop Enquirer Magazine which can be found on the main website. The second is Hip Hop Enquirer TV, which is currently a channel on YouTube. As of December 29, 2012, HHE TV has over 190 videos of hip hop, celebrity, and entertainment news. This includes celebrity interviews, special event coverage. Because Byron is one of the most notable journalists in the Atlanta area, he and HHE have been able to obtain exclusive access to major news stories of The South. Some exclusive videos on HHE TV include George Zimmerman's interrogation tapes in relation to the Trayvon Martin case, backstage and in-studio footage of top hip hop artists discussing current events and upcoming works.

Usher Raymond & Tameka Foster Divorce[edit]
Byron has been credited as one of the main journalists covering southern hip hop news, most notably his ongoing coverage of the Usher Raymond and Tameka Foster divorce. Many times being one of a handful of journalists and reporters allowed in the courtroom, HHE has been able to obtain exclusive footage of the divorce case, and has been a primary resource for fans to follow the trial.

Waka Flocka Flame Arrest[edit]
As a reporter/senior writer for Hip Hop Weekly, Byron was one of the first reporters on the scene when Waka Flocka Flame turned himself in on an outstanding warrant for drug and weapons possession in January of 2011. HHE has been following-up with close coverage of Waka Flocka Flame's legal battles.
