An alumnus of Ryerson University's Commerce program, Wilson has worked in fashion and retail for many years. As the eldest son of Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist Chip Wilson, he has worked with various companies both in product development and branding including internships at Holt Renfrew as men's trend forecaster, with private equity firm Advent International on its retail and consumer team. Following that, he spent over two years with Canadian-based fashion label Wings+Horns leading their sales and brand development, and launched e-commerce. He is currently in partnership at Kit and Ace with his stepmother, Shannon Wilson.

Beyond work in apparel, JJ has followed in his father’s footsteps as a noted philanthropist and booster. He interned during the summer of 2010 with the Clinton Foundation and has been an active supporter to the Wilson family’s charity imagine1day.

In the media, JJ's achievements within the fashion industry have been highlighted in Huffington Post Style [1], The Vancouver Sun [2] and more.
