The X Factor[edit]

In April 2013, Cordova announced that she was a part of a new girl band, Girls United along with Candice Craig and Alex Segal, indirectly announcing her departure as a member of Girlicious.[1] Girls Untied auditioned for the third season of the The X Factor[2] with "Price Tag" by Jessie J. Girls United was picked in the Final 40, one of ten acts in the "Groups" category mentored by Simon Cowell chosen to move on to the next stage of the competition.[3] Potter sang "Yeah 3x" by Chris Brown and was placed in chair 1. But they were switched out with eventually winners Alex & Sierra, and failed to made the final four of "Group" category.[4][5][6][7]

Debut EP[edit]

On October 9, Girls United released their cover of Ariana Grande's "Pink Champagne", the music video of the song was directed Don Tyler.[8][9] The song received an positive review from DaysTune, saying "You’ve got pretty women, great harmony and the kind of pop music that sells records".[8] It was announced that they are working on their debut EP.[8] Girl United released their debut single "The Mashup" which was produced by Orange Factory Music.[10] "Girls United's "The Mashup" has that great hip-hop with dash of R&B sound that just takes my breath away. This is quite an debut single which I honestly would expected from Miss Cordova to provide us with. These girls are an great mix and they show how they do it in The Mashup".[11]

They’ve been described as a cross between female super-groups the Spice Girls and TLC, whom they consider pioneers of the Girl Power movement in music.[12]

Nichole Cordova[edit]

Nichole Marie Cordova (born August 17, 1988) is from Houston, Texas, where she has been singing since the age of four. She was offered a chance to start recording her very first demo at the age of 14. In 2007, Nichole recorded over 50 songs in the hopes of releasing her own album. Aside from singing, she is also a trained ballet dancer and teacher for over ten years.[13] Cordova cites Jill Scott, Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera as musical influences.

Nichole Cordova performed her first solo performance with the En Vogue's version of "Something He Can Feel" on the season finale of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious where she became the first member of Girlicious,[14] along with former members Tiffanie Anderson, Natalie Mejia and Chrystina Sayers.[15] She received high praise from the judges for her performance of "Something He Can Feel" with them describing it as "unexpected" and solid.[14] Cordova landed the lead female role in the horror film Bleed Out as Taylor.[16] On June 17, 2011, Cordova performed alongside Carmen Electra on the Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Revue Tour.[17]

Alex Segal[edit]

Alexandra Rodriguez better know as her stage name Alex Segal. Alex landed an recurring role as Whitney in the television series First Day.

Candice Craig[edit]

Candice "Candi" Craig is Haitian-American born in South Florida in 1988. Candice’s professional career was launched at the tender age of seventeen.[18] She has danced for Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Diddy, Ciara, N.E.R.D (Pharrel Williams), Pitbull, Mark Anthony, Ashlee Simpson, Daddy Yankee and Wisin y Yandel.[18] Candice developed her talents in the competitive environment of Miami-Dade County’s Magnet Schools Program for the Performing Arts during her elementary and high school years.[18] She graduated form Coral Reef Senior High and greatly contributed to the school’s successes at the national level.[18]

In addition, years of intense training in ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern and lyrical at Dance Attack, one of the finest dancing schools in South Florida.[18] She consistently won awards and trophies for her school in numerous competitions over the years, including the honor of National Champion.[18]
