Notes to Self[edit]

Newbury February 2017 was G2.

Every Epsom Derby winner 1998-2016 has had Northern Dancer in his pedigree, although the 2016 winner only had him in the 5th line.

Liam Treadwell was also 3rd in the 2015 Grand National. His 4th Grand National ride was due to be in 2017 but he missed it through injury.[10]

Caroline Beasley was the first female jockey to win at the Cheltenham Festival in 1983.

Gee Armytage was the first female jockey to win against professionals at the Cheltenham Festival. All her Cheltenham Festival wins were as an amateur but she later became a professional.

Lizzie Kelly was the first female jockey to win at the Cheltenham Festival as a professional in 2018 when she won on Coo Star Sivola in the Festival Trophy Handicap Chase.[11] Daily Mail reference about Gee is wrong.

Sean Levey became first black jockey to win 1000 guineas in 2018.

Interesting[edit]

Champion was the first Epsom Derby winner to win the St Leger in 1800. A triple crown was impossible because there was no 2000 Guineas Stakes.
