From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

By training I am a medical scientist. Unfortunately Wikipedia is still seen as an "unreliable" source of information in both the academic and scientific circles, however I believe this view is held by an older generation not used to using Wikipedia. I have been using Wikipedia throughout my education and career. It is true that some information is incorrect, subjective, and/or without citation(s). Currently, Wikipedia is best used as a starting point in internet research (e.g. finding the exact name for a concept that you didn't know had a name) from which you can increase the specificity of your search and expand your search parameters when you come to a dead end. My goal is to help make Wikipedia a "reliable" source of information as well as make the current antiquated "lit search" process a little easier for all levels of science and medicine.

As of 2012 I have just started to edit and/or create articles on Wikipedia. My efforts are specifically dedicated to university students as well as those in professional schools (medical, law, etc), in the hopes of helping to make your learning a little easier.
