This is a template for creating external links for Bible verses. It is different from template:bibleverse and template:bibleverse-nb, in that it doesn't need an external resolver script. It is also different from template:bibleref, in that the third parameter is the display text for the resulting link, allowing for greater flexibility of use; it also offers access to more translations.

Usage

The usage of this template is easy.

Parameters:

1. Book of the Bible
2. Chapter:Verse[-range]
3. Display text (defaults to "[1] [2]")
4. Translation code (see list above, defaults to "niv")

So:

Produces:

1:1 gen 1:1

And:

{{bverse|Gen.|1:1-5}}

Produces:

Gen. 1:1–5

And:

{{bverse|gen|1:1-5||esv}}

Produces:

esv

And:

{{bverse|Matt|1:21|Matthew|nrs}} speaks of...

Produces:

nrs speaks of...

And so on.

Usage

The usage of all of these templates is the same.
