Frank Miele[edit]
Frank Miele (born 1955) is an American journalist best known as a conservative columnist for Real Clear Politics. He worked at the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Montana, from 1984 to 2018 in a variety of capacities, most notably as managing editor from 2000 until his retirement in 2018. [1]
Miele was born in New Jersey and raised in Stony Point, New York. He earned his B.A. in anthropology from Tulane University and later studied creative writing at the University of Montana and the University of Arizona, where he was a founding editor of the Sonora Review. He began his journalism career working for the Daily Wildcat school newspaper at the University of Arizona. He later worked briefly for the Bismarck (N.D.) Tribune and the Los Angeles Daily News before beginning his career at the Inter Lake newspaper.
Miele started writing a weekly column called "Editor's 2 Cents" at the Inter Lake in 2004 and continued with that column until his retirement in September 2018. The next month his column began appearing at Real Clear Politics. [2] Miele also has a website for political commentary at www. HeartlandDiaryUSA.com and has published several collections of his columns in book form. "Why We Needed Trump" is a trilogy, with the three volumes focusing on the George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump presidential eras. A follow-up volume entitled "The Media Matrix: What If Everything You Know Is Fake" is a collection of columns critiquing journalism, media and popular culture.
