The Lower Canada Government Act, 1838 was an act of the British Parliament, passed to provide for the government of the province of Lower Canada in British North America, following the Lower Canada Rebellion of 1837–1838. The Act suspended the operation of the Constitutional Act, 1791, which provided for the government of Lower Canada, and created an appointed Special Council to govern the province, with the Governor General.
