The Earthquake Institute is a Hip Hop duo from Oxnard California . The group is comprised of members Ali ( Spitball )Flores and Louis ( Simon Sez ) Ontiveras .

Prior to becoming the Earthquake Institute in 2000 , the group released an album titled Head For The Hills as The Backyard Rangers 1994 . The Backyard Rangers gained national attention with their debut video "Ready On The Set" which aired on BET Rap City .

In 2004 The Earthquake Institute released their first full length album titled Super B Boy Pimpin on Richter Scale Records . The first video from the album titled " Science Friction " was in regular rotation on The Hip Hop Show KJLA , a video show based in Los Angeles California with a viewership of six million people . The follow up animated video " Audible Rollercoaster " was also in heavy rotation on The Hip Hop show . The group gained national attention with the release of the third single/ video " Super B Boy Pimpin " . The video received regular national exposure on Mun2 and SiTV. "Super B Boy Pimpin " landed # 10 on Billboards Hot 100 singles in May 2005 .
