Ben Crouch is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and author. Crouch is known for his film production company; Trilogy Pictures, which he started in 2014. he is also known for his two novels, The Whisper Child, and The Arcane Volumes. His Kickstarter funded production company started his filmmaking and acting career. Crouch is also the Grand Master (leader) of the Kahoashian Lodges of America, an independent fraternal organization based on values of kindness, and fellowship.
Early Life[edit]
Crouch is one of two siblings. He was born in 2001, and started making films at a very early age. He started participating in productions at his local theater at a very early age as well. He thoroughly enjoyed the productions, and says that it was because of it that he now has a career as an actor. In 2012, he began making YouTube videos on a channel called Blue Frog Studios. In these videos, he would show off special effects tricks, such as reversing footage to make it seem as if objects were flying into his hands, and taking two shots and stitching them together to make it seem as though there were two of the same person in the shot. In 2014, he started a comedic YouTube series, called EagleWeek, which was a vlog style series, with the occasional skit.
EagleWeek[edit]
EagleWeek was a comedic online series in which Crouch would answer the questions of viewers. It caught the attention of many of Crouch's classmates at school. Episodes would often feature co-star, Jack Clark. Clark was a long time friend of Crouch, so he was welcomed aboard as a reoccurring character when there was a skit to be preformed for the show. Crouch stopped making episodes after episode six to pursue Trilogy Pictures, his film production company of which he is currently acting as CEO.
Structure[edit]
In the show, Crouch would mainly sit down in front of the camera in his bedroom, and answer the questions of viewers. The show quickly evolved in to skits, co-starring Jack Clark. Clark played a dim witted character who would frequently do ridiculous things, such as in one episode, Crouch receives a mind reading device in the mail, constructed of a foil covered hard hat with a clothes hanger sticking out the top, and a pair of headphones coming out the side. Upon putting the device on Clark's head, Crouch listens to the headphones to see what Clark is thinking, but he hears nothing but static and elevator music. One planned episode that was never made was called, Bluescreen OS. The episode was a fake commercial for an operating system that when turned on, displayed nothing but the "blue screen of death" the announcer in the commerical was going to make comments on the product such as, "Perfect for... writing on a piece of paper with a pencil," and "Tired of being organized with all your fancy files, and word processors on your Windows or Mac powered computer?" The last episode was uploaded to YouTube on June 18, 2014.
Cast and Crew[edit]
- Ben Crouch (2014-present). Crouch serves as the host of the show. Doing all editing, camera operating, and anything else that is required to make the show.
- Jack Clark (2014-present). Clark is a reoccurring character in EagleWeek. He often serves as the co-star playing an extremely funny role in the occasional skits that EagleWeek produces.
Blue Frog Studios[edit]
In 2012, Crouch started a YouTube channel called Blue Frog Studios. In this series, Crouch would demonstrate his ability to do special effects. These special effects included reversing footage to create special tricks such as a sock being put on without the use of hands by way of reversing footage of Crouch removing a sock with his feet. Another effect that Crouch did often on his channel, was to stitch together two clips of himself side by side to make it seem as though there were two of him in one shot.

Hacker[edit]
Hacker was Crouch's first offical short film project. His first short film project ever, was an episode of EagleWeek, when Jack Clark made his first cameo appearance. To film it, he used the Canon Rebel EOS T5i, which he had just recently acquired. He remade the film when his production company, Trilogy Pictures, was funded by the Kickstarter campaign he launched to fund it. The idea for the film was thought up in the early stages of planning Trilogy Pictures. Crouch had many screenplay ideas in mind, but he decided to start with this one as his first short film for financial purposes, as Trilogy Pictures' Kickstarter campaign hadn't started yet.
Plot[edit]
A thirteen year old boy is hired by a company investor, who needs information that is stored on a CIA server. When the boy (John) discovers that the man who hired him has been leaking small amounts of information about John's efforts to hack into the server, John must find a way to quietly "dispose" of his client in an effort to keep himself safe before any more information gets out. In the short, the two first meet at a restaurant, and the investor informs John of the task he wants him to carry
Cast[edit]
The cast of Hacker only includes two people. One of which doesn't have a name.
- Ben Crouch as John. The main character in the story, John demonstrates a heartless, cruel personality.
- Unknown Actor as investor. The investor shows that he is in many ways afraid of John, which is why he doesn't leak all the information he knows.
