'Shri Murli Manohar Town PG College', Ballia as the name implies is a Post Graduate institution. It is also popularly called as SMMTD College as it is also a degree college. The institute came into existence in the year 1955. The institute was established by Shri Murli Babu, who was a freedom fighter and an eminent lawyer. It is a co-education, Grant-in-aid College affiliated to Jananayak Chandrashekhar University Ballia. Courses in arts, science, commerce, agriculture and B. Ed are offered by the college. There is a placement cell and also a career and guidance cell functioning under the college. The institute is accredited with B Grade status by NAAC. To give importance to extracurricular activities, NCC and NSS are available at the college. The infrastructure at the college includes a library, hostel, Wi-Fi computers, agriculture farm and botanical garden.
