Porscia Yeganeh, the internationally acclaimed designer behind the renowned PORSCIA® fashion line, has been crafting designs that are the epitome of practical luxury for more than two decades.
Early life and Career Influences[edit]
PorsciaYeganeh was born in Abadan, the province of Khuzestanin Iran. She was the second child in a family two sons and one daughter.
- Her family left Iran in 1986 after the Iranian revolution in 1979 traveling from Turkey to Greece.
- They remained in Greece until 1991; while living there she acquired her first writing and reading language in Greek.
- Her remarkable talent and eye for fashion was evident since she was a child growing up. While traveling abroad from Turkey, to setting in Greece, she was inspired by the beauty of the diverse environments she would see; including the religious covered up body style in Middle East to complete exposure body in North America to Europe.
- She spent her spare time constructing dresses for her Barbie dolls with her own distinctive style — sewing the garments inside out with the colorful threads, in the 80s, in a method known today as topstitching. while living there she acquired her first writing and reading language in Greek.
- In 1991, Yeganeh arrived in the province British Columbia in Canadawhere she entered into Roy Stibbs Public School, and two years later at Port Moody High School.
- Yeganeh became fashionably active when she joined the fashion class in 1996.This is where she built interest in the form and function of women’s wear. On her graduation, she styled her own dress made of satin silk pink in the shape of a mermaid cut.
- After her high school graduation, in 1998, it was her mother’s wish for her to study law or medicine to follow her family career pattern. As clearly as it was to her, Yeganeh passion lied; in fashion and to make woman stand with simple elegance.
- In 2004 received first buying offer from a top chain department retailer, THE HUDSONS BAY, and many others followed which inspired her to launch her own line with the distinctive name she owned, PORSCIA.
Yeganeh launched her fashion career in leaving Canada to Italy to focus on expanding the organization and to in the most recognized country where some of the top famous fashion labels are: Giorgio Armani, PRADA, Emilio Pucci.
