Monnae Michaell (born October 11, 1965) is an American actress best known for her roles on American Dreams, The Defenders, The Office, Nip Tuck, and most recently for recurring Guest Star roles on Criminal Minds, S.W.A.T. and many others. In 2000, She was nominated for a NAACP Theatre Award^[1] for her role as Tanya in August Wilson's King Hedley II at the Mark Taper Forum. Monnae attended the Lee Strasberg Institute through New York University and began her career in musical theater as an actress, singer, and dancer. She has performed in many musical venues and her one-woman show, won her a Bistro Award for Best Newcomer for a solo show.^[2] In addition to continuing her work as an actor, she has worked in voiceover, providing the voice of Anui, Balto's mother in the animated film, Balto II: Wolf Quest.
